Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) sets the foundations for student success and well-being and
better equips students for rigorous academic and professional environments. This session will
focus on the what, where, why, and how of SEL: what are the 5 SEL competencies, where to find
appropriate resources, why do all students need these skills and how to embed learning in
everyday instruction. Although SEL is vital at all grade levels, this session will primarily focus on
Early Childhood Education, students in preschool to grade 3.
